A variation of the sniper Silly Shell that doesn't need any hardware, just filament and super glue. 2 printed barrel options are included for different sized beds, 1Ft and 10 Inches.

As far as I can tell there isn't much loss in speed when using this shell over a normal sniper shell with a metal barrel. I do not own a chronograph so I can't tell for sure how much worse the performance of this shell is.

Printing suggestions:

  • All the parts are in print orientation
  • Print the shell exactly like a normal Silly Shell
  • I only had success printing the barrel at a lower layer height, I used .12 on my P1S but you may need to go lower to get good results
  • May want to use a brim for the barrel

Assembly:

  1. Test the fit of the barrel in the shell, it's meant to be pretty tight so you may need to go around the inside of the hole in the shell with a round needle file or something similar. Make sure the barrel can seat all the way to the bottom
  2. Put some super glue or epoxy (I used gorilla glue) around the inside of the hole in the shell, make sure you go all the way around.
  3. Put the barrel in all the way to the bottom, give it a couple spins to spread the glue
  4. Let the glue dry and you're done!

Potential issues:

  • One of the barrels I printed needed to be deburred on one of the edges to remove some blobs of filament
  • One of the shells I made didn't have enough glue to seal up properly. The amount of glue you need to use is slightly finnicky, not enough and it won't seal up properly, too much and it can leak out the bottom of the shell.
