When you need it to be dark inside the box, but sometimes want to take a look inside, now you just slide the lever. The entire mechanism is fully 3D printable, without supports and designed so that everything happens on the inside. This means you can easily add a plexiglass window if you want, and the blinds will still work perfectly. No screws, glue, or any other fasteners are needed for assembly — just print the parts and snap them together. Video how to assemble is here.
