I plan to use my x5 on my motorcycle and the idea that the camera out there at the end of the action selfie stick is only kept from spinning by the friction of the camera bottom versus the stick top, determined by how hard I twist to begin with, freaks me out a little. I can't say I've ever heard of this being a problem, but I figured I would fix what ain't broken anyway.
I CADed up a little 2-piece clamp that engages the holes in the bottom of the camera (for the quick release plate) and it uses a couple spare bike-cleat m5 screws I had squirreled away. You screw camera onto stick, then just put these on, tighten gently, and the camera can't spin at all unless you really crank the crap out of it.
It's not pretty, but I've tested and it doesn't show up in frame as far as I can tell.
I printed the first one with PETG at 15% infill with minimum perimeters of 4. It's stiff enough to do the job. Remember the primary connection to the camera is still the stick's ¼ coard thread mount. The only thing this does it inhibit rotation between the camera and the stick after you tighten it on. You may want to go 100% infill just to be safe.
You need to tap the non screw side with an m5 tap.
EDIT: There is another model in here that takes an M5 Nylock nut, just push one in each side and you won't need to tap any holes.
I made the first one to use some spare bike cleat m5 screws I had laying around (the short ones, 12mm from end to end) The other model will take a standard socket head m5. 12mm from bottom of head to tip should do it. 10 might work fine too. 15 should also fit.
