Engaving surfaces without the LP4's default stand is tricky. This model makes the LP4 tripod compatible.

This adapter holds the LaserPecker4 safely so that it can be attached to a tripod. Now you can engrave surfaces that were impossible to work with before. Works horizontally, at an angle, upside down, sideways. Please use under the supervision of a Laser Safety Officer.

Features:

  • fully tested in real life
  • all cable ports are useable
  • no supports needed
  • designed for proper and unobstructed ventilation
  • compatible with the LP4 protective cover (removed in the photos for illustrative purposes - always follow safety protocols)
  • safety hexagon holds the LP4 in place even if the adapter is used upside down
  • all parts that experience mechanical stress are designed so that the forces compress the print layers
  • use "Split > to parts" in your slicer to use the integrated modifier part for increased infill around the captive nut
  • emergency OFF button remains accessible
  • cutouts for focussing rail compatibility
  • designed for PLA, but feel free to use sturdier filament
  • Fusion .f3d and STEP available
  • compatible with focussing distance gauges. I recommend Yi Yu's design on Printables.

Bill of Materials (BOM):

  • ¼" Captive nut. The model is based on the dimensions of McMaster Carr 93766A200 Screw-Locking Tee Nut Inserts for Wood. I actually used a “sourcingmap® 1/4-inch Thread Dia 8mm Height 4 Prongs Fully Threaded Pronged Tee Nuts” by uxcell. The tolerances around this nut are lenient on purpose so other manufacturers' hardware should be fine.
  • ¼" camera mounting screw. I used “VOCIBO® Adapter 1/4 Inch Screw 2 Pieces, 1/4 Inch Camera Mounting Screw, Camera Screw 1/4 Inch Stainless Steel, Tripod Screw 1/4 Inch, for Camera Tripod, Quick Release Plate”. Thread length: 17mm. One for the safety hexagon and one more in case your tripod head screw has a shorter thread. My Manfrotto head would not have fully threaded with the captive nut.
  • Optional: macro focus rail slider. It makes it much easier to physically get the focal distance where it needs to be. Tested with “DSLRKIT 4 way Macro Shot Focusing Focus Rail Slider for CANON NIKON SONY Camera D-SLR, New Updated Version”
