Pants clip hanger

Hi all,

Here is a simple clip I made to use shirt hangers as pants hangers. One prints in just under half an hour on my Bambu P1S with a relatively slow print print profile for PETG. It's pretty sturdy (it has no trouble holding my big and tall pants) and lives with the hanger once installed. Could you just go to the hardware store and get a pack of 50 cloths hangers for 5 dollars? Yes, yes you could. I also included the freeCAD file for the parts. It's my first go-around with freeCAD, so there might be better practices than what I did but anything you need to make modifications should be there.

Print instructions

There are three volumes to choose from, pants_clip_main, which is the clip itself, and two optional modifier volumes, pants_clip_solid and pants_clip_fuzzy. Since this is a living hinge, you want to avoid brittle materials like PLA for longevity. I printed mine from PETG. Make sure you let it cool before using it, or it will likely permanently deform.

The only settings that really matter for pants_clip_main are infill and perimeters. I settled on 15% cross-hatch infill and 2 perimeters. Since the whole model is vertical, you might as well print with the greatest layer height available to you.

To use the two modifier volumes, just add them as modifier volumes in your slicer. Since all the files are .3mfs you shouldn't have any trouble with alignment. As the names suggest, pants_clip_solid is meant to give you solid handles (I found that the handles had too much give to them when not solid) and pants_clip_fuzzy gives the handles a tactile region. Neither are strictly necessary.
