This model is my first version of parameterised gears in fusion. Built as part of my parameterisation of my herringbone roller bearing.
The model includes both a spur gear and rack. Both can be adjusted to suit any module (tooth size), tooth count and thickness. You can also profile shift the gears to avoid interference at small tooth counts, if you are familiar with this function.
The spur gears use an involute tooth profile which is calculated and drawn using the parameters and calculation functions within Fusion , without needing add ins or additional external calculations.
I have tried to label the parameters clearly and include descriptions of their functions. The parameters you can edit are labelled “Input”. The model may break if you edit the other parameters, or make input changes that conflict.
The model doesn't include undercutting so the spur gear may experience interference at small tooth counts.
Please let me know if you have any questions, problems or suggestions.
