This 3D model is based on the Sun Stone, a monolith/sculpture that was uncovered in Mexico City (The Aztec Capital) in the late 1700s. Currently housed in Mexico City, it’s exact meaning is debated - it could be religious, cosmology related, geographically related, a calendar, etc. I just think it looks cool!
My approach was to sketch it out, and extrude different sections to different heights, it was tedious more than anything else. It has a small hole in the back for mounting on the wall.
Please Note, it is not a true multicolor model, but by switching out filament at 2 or 3 different layer heights you can make a great looking print! Just use the appropriate settings in your slicer software.
