How many times have you needed a thin strip of tape, tried cutting it with scissors, and been left with a sticky wad? This slitting tool lets you accurately set the desired width, and then precisely slits the tape while still on the roll. It uses standard single edged razor blades, and requires a 10-32 x 2" long screw and a rubber band to complete the assembly.

Notes:
The slider piece has a built-in support that needs to be broken away after printing. Make sure to sand off any blobs or strings from the dovetail slide before assembling. It's best if you can tap the hole for the 10-32 adjustment screw, but you can also just jam the screw in to form the thread.
To use, first insert the blade at a slight angle. Then push the exposed end of the blade back towards the dovetail where the corner will be captured by a small lip that keeps the blade from sliding back out as you cut. After assembling the slider onto the base, add a rubber band to keep the adjustment screw pressed against the base.Category: Hand Tools
