Tessenjutsu is a Japanese martial art that involves the use of a tessen, which is a folding fan typically made of metal plates. Practitioners of tessenjutsu utilize the tessen for striking, shielding, and grappling. The tessen could be sharpened for slashing or thrusting, and its collapsible nature allowed for concealment. Additionally, the fan could be used to blind or distract opponents.
