Remix of ceraphim's Keebio Iris v7 case at https://www.printables.com/model/332654-keebio-iris-v7-case-m2-direct-thread-sandwich, but as a “pie” instead of “sandwich”.

Changes made in this remix:

  • Combined the bottom-plate and middle layer into a combined “lower” component.
  • Enlarged the top-plate holes to permit an M2 bolt to pass through with minimal thread engagement.
  • Added a “counter-bore” hole, to allow the bolts to sit flush with the top-plate surface. The counter-bore is 1.5mm deep.

The provided files are modeled for the left side of the Iris. To make the right side parts, mirror these files in your slicer.

NOTE on fasteners:

This model supports a maximum bolt-size of M2x10mm, because the bolt-path is 11.5mm deep. The older model allowed up to m2x16mm bolts, but had 3 total parts to secure together. This model requires 20x M2 bolts. The hardware Keebio includes, when purchasing plates, include 40x M2x8mm bolts.

The reasons for the different hardware requirements are so:

  • It has fewer parts! The older model needed both top and bottom plates screwed to the middle layer. This model only needs screws for the top plate, so only requires half the bolts.
  • It's thinner! The older model had a 1.5mm bottom plate, 11mm middle layer, and 3.5mm top plate. This model has no bottom plate, has a 1.5mm bottom wall, and has a 1.5mm counter-bore on the top plate. This leaves a 11.5mm bolt path.
