Designed to connect the exhaust fan outlet on a Elegoo Centauri Carbon to a window vent. Should be useable on any printer with a 4" diameter exhaust outlet.

Features:

  • Quick connect hose adapters for easy assembly/disassembly
  • Screw-on hose connector for 4" dust collection hose
  • 90 degree elbow between the printer and the hose connection for constrained space behind printer

The printer exhaust adapter is intended to fit my remixed Centauri Carbon Exhaust Filter/Vent :  https://www.printables.com/model/1333699-centauri-carbon-exhaust-filtervent-with-reinforced

Original filter vent is by Wolf_Prints: https://www.printables.com/model/1245774-centauri-carbon-exhaust-filtervent-2-in-1

I designed and printed this model after putting an Elegoo Centauri Carbon on pre-order. All parts (except the spacers) were printed on an Ender 3 V2 upgraded with a direct extruder. After receiving the Centauri Carbon I assembled the vent system and verified that it works as expected. I did find that the hose quick connects were pretty tight. I tweaked the model uploaded here to have a little more clearance between the quick-connect's base and retainer pieces.

Depending on how precisely  the components are printed, you can make  the spacers  and add them between the quick-connect bases and retainers. The spacer is .2mm thick, and the DBL is .4mm.

Printing notes:

  • Printed with PETG
  • .3mm layers (adaptive layers used, but not required, for the elbow)
  • 20% infill
  • Supports only required for Exhaust-vent-filter_90DegRIght

Assembly:

  1. Assemble the Vent Panel Adapter to one of the Quick-Connect Retainers using (4) M3x12 screws and nuts. Test the fit of the quick-connect by sliding a hose-adapter into the space between the vent adapter and the retainer. Optionally add one of the spacers to make inserting the hose adapter easier.
  2. Put the assembled Vent Panel Adapter onto the purchased window vent, and put the whole thing in a nearby window.
  3. Screw one of the hose adapters on to the purchased out collection hose. The hose I used had the reinforcing wire in a left-hand spiral, so the adapter has left-hand threads.
  4. Insert the hose adapter , with hose, into the installed window vent. Don't cut the hose to length yet.
  5. Assemble the 90 degree elbow and the other quick-connect retainer using M3x12 screws and nuts. Again, you can add a spacer if desired.
  6. Check the orientation of the Exhaust Filter/Vent on the back of the printer. Slide the 90 degree elbow over the output stub of the Exhaust Filter/Vent and rotate it so the the quick-connect end of the elbow points toward the window. Fasten the Elbow and Filter/Vent using M3x8 screws. Tapping the holes on the Filter/Vent for M3 threads will make attaching the elbow easier.
  7. Attach the assembled Filter/Vent and Elbow to the printer. The existing screws on the Centauri Carbon for the exhaust fan are quite short (M3x4), so replace those with M3x6 screws to fasten the Filter/Vent assembly to the printer.
  8. Stretch the hose between the window and the printer and now cut it to length. Screw the  remaining Hose Adapter on to the hose. Slide the hose into the quick-connect on the Elbow output.
