Rod wrapping station for working thread onto rod blanks to fix guides and add decorative patterns to your setup

BOM

Printed Parts

3x Washers (optional)

1x Spring (optional)

Print

1x Carrier Part a

1x Carrier Part b

1x M7 bolt

2x M7 nuts

1x Spacer

1x M7 Spring (optional: use an actual spring here instead if preferred)

Assembly

  1. Lay out carrier A and B - use m7 bolt as a guide then secure both carriers down using screw holes
  2. Lay your assembly along the printed bolt. I chose to use 3 washers (nut>nut>spring>washer>Thread Spool>washer>spacer>washer)
  3. Finally thread M7 Bolt through bolt into part b to secure
  4. Adjust tension by winding m7 nuts. 2nd nut jams and secures the first one so it doesnt move
  5. Use the tensioner arm (base .stl included) if you like otherwise an eye bolt will work. I've added both in the image

Printing

Doesnt matter what nozzle as long as you can print 0.2 layer height to capture the threads on the m7 bolts and nuts sufficiently
