This is a rain shield for BirdWeather, a smart bird identifying and logging device which will record and catalog your local avian neighbors. The device is weatherproof but could use a bit of extra protection for its USB port and microphones. This mount holds it fast and provides an umbrella to deflect rain and falling debris.

The first three photos show the current version. The tabletop photos show an earlier model. The only significant difference is that the newest has a larger umbrella and a narrower central spine.

Use a ¾ to 1-inch long ¼ x 20 machine screw to fasten this mount to the BirdWeather holder, aligning the top of the holder with the top of the mount. I used a hex-head screw, but a slotted or Phillips or hex-key screw would make proper alignment easier. The mount attaches to a wall, post or fence with two small wood screws.  I found it easiest to drive the bottom screw first, then thread the USB cable through the BirdWeather mount, plug it in, then drive the upper screw.

Printed in ASA, which will survive outdoor exposure. Use supports to keep the bolt cavity relatively smooth, The umbrella is not waterproof with normal 3D printing, but it will deflect most rainfall.
