Project:
This is my remix of the 10 inch Rack 1 U HDD cages from https://makerworld.com/en/@OloDeepdelver.
I added a mounting option for a ZimaBlade to act as my NAS as my entire Homelab is based on a 19 inch rack.
This was printed in PETG supported by a Thomann 1U Adapter https://www.thomann.de/de/thon_rackwanne_1he.htm. However this should be able to support its own when printed in PETG.
I used the same HDD caddys as Olo https://www.serverschmiede.com/de/dell-35-lff-hotswap-hdd-caddy-tray-festplatten-rahmen-0f238f for a Dell Poweredge R720.
Same for the Sata connectors https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00EK9B13W?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 specified in his build.
to connect the HDDs to the ZimaBlade i used the NAS cable sold by Icewhale and some generic Male to Female SATA extensions, like these https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00NURHUSU?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
Print:
- 20mm layer height
- 6 Wall loops (this is excessive)
- 15% Infill
- Print facedown, no support needed
- no raft (personal preference)
Misc Parts:
4 x 3m Machine bolts to mount the SATA connectors
Mounting:
To mount the ZimaBlade remove the plastic shroud and rubber feet.
The ZimaBlade will be held by friction in the caddy.
