Well, home-made picks is not shiny smooth like branded. But are still playable. PLA is a relatively rough material, which gives significant attack. PETG are also but not as much as PLA.
Check there is no seams on tips of picks. It is possible to deny seams in the area e. g. with a seam painting tool of a slicer, and they will be placed at bridges.
FreeCAD project allows to tune thickness. Just edit the only value on Spreadsheet. Also fillets are not good for thickness ≤ 1.0 mm. To make thin picks just find the Fillet, click twice and reduce it.
