This is a case for a Thin ITX motherboard. Thin describes the motherboard not the case.

A Thin ITX motherboard is exactly the same as an ITX motherboard except the IO shield is only 25mm high and it's powered (or should be powered) by an external 12v brick.

I needed such case for my opnsense PC. All the cases I found were designed for ITX and did not accommodate 2 SATA SSDs (Yes, I mirror and I know it's overkill). Therefor I created mine.

BOM:

  • 300g PETG
  • 2 Angled SATA connectors
  • 4 M2.5 16mm screws and nuts for the connectors.
  • 8 M3 10mm screws and nuts. 3 for attaching the rear part to the bottom and 5 to attach the body to the bottom. You can use less if you want ;-)
  • 4 M3 6mm standoffs and 4 M3 nuts.  The bottom part has gaps for the nuts. My standoffs have 4mm long threads so they do not interfere with the SSDs.
  • 16mm momentary switch (power button).
