The filament dry box by werner_rh uses a rolladapter that tightly fits into the spool and takes a 10mm aluminium rod as axis. Those rolladapters are made for many separate diameters.
If you use filament by multiple manufactures, you will need to have a certain stock on these adapters. My rolladapters use a spring mechanism that allows to squeeze them into spools with varying inner diameters.
The filename gives the range of diameter that the adapter is suitable for. The following ranges are available right now:
- 46mm - 54mm
- 54mm - 68mm
- 65mm - 82mm
If you need some special size, let me know in the comments and I will see if I can do one for you.
Printing:
- PETG (PLA should also work, but not tested)
- "supports on print bed" are needed for the springs
- The gap between the movable part and the fixed ring is 0.2mm. For my printer (Prusa MK3S) this worked out fine without support and without anything sticking.
- Nozzle: ≤ 0.6mm
