I received the updated spools for the AD5x and they work fantastic except that they raise the center of the spool upwards so some of my cardboard spools would rub the IFS with channel 1 and 4 spools. I made this adapter bracket to lift the IFS up 10 mm to clear the spools. 

Hardware required will be: 

  • 2x m3x6 screws flush mount or button head
  • 2x M3 heat inserts 5 mm OD by 4 mm long

   Install the heat inserts in the two top holes on the side of the bracket with lettering. Remove your IFS, remove your ifs bracket. Attach the adapter to your frame using the m3x6 screws. Attach the ifs bracket to your new adapter. And then attach the IFS to the original bracket again.
