------- How To Use -------

The button has a cavity meant to house a 3/8" outer diameter spring (recommended height: 5/8"). Place the button/spring assembly in the housing with the button on one of the holes, and press the two housing pieces together. The bumps on the housing should hold the assembly together, but for extra strength, you can add glue along the seam and clamp the housing together until it's cured.

Once together, use your finger to fidget the button between the holes to your heart's content!

------- Assets Provided -------

Button, Top Casing, Bottom Casing

NOT PROVIDED: Spring (example uses Harbor Freight 3/8" OD x 5/8" Height spring)

------- Printing Recommendations -------

Examples were printed out of eSun Transparent Blue PETG with 15% infill, 3-5 bottom shell and top shell layers, 3 wall loops, no supports, all pieces printed on their largest flat sides. Layer heights of 0.10mm and 0.16mm on a 0.4mm nozzle were both found to be viable, with 0.10 mm having a smoother feel, and any layer height/nozzle diameter smaller than that should also work in theory.

Note that rough materials will likely cause the button to “catch” rather than glide and snap easily. For optimal performance, some sanding/smoothing of the top button surfaces may help

------- But Why Would I Print This? -------

  • You are a known lover of fidgets, everyone says so
  • You have a surplus of 3/8" OD springs you need a use for
  • Small, handheld, and pocketable
  • Can be made with less than 10 grams of material
  • Your coworkers in the office will get to hear a fun, repetitive noise
  • Bonus for toddlers: mimics a baby toy meant to help with motor skill development

As a caution, like with any fidget toy, injuries may occur when excessive repetitive motions are performed and/or when excessive force is applied
