The spool holders that use bearings seem the most robust of all spool holders to me, but I've grown tired of knocking them over accidentally when I change filament. This platform helps keep them stable. It is adjustable to most common spool sizes for 1.75mm filament.

You may not need the 3/8" #4 wood screws that keep the bearing holders together, because the bearings should fit quite snugly. You will need 4 common skate wheel bearings for each spool holder set. You may be able to print your own:

I normally print all parts at .12-.18mm. Smaller parts should be printed at highest quality (.1-.12mm). Supports should only be needed for the two inner spacer shelves of the platform.

The following quantities are needed for a single spool holder set:

Bearing_Holder_half - 4

platform - 1

support - 2

small nut and bolt - 2

Notes:

The small bolts with the finger nut can be a little stubborn, but my printer may need calibration. My first try for the printable bearing was abject failure, so I guess I have a printer fine tuning project ahead of me. Luckily those 608 bearings have pretty well flooded the market (I always have a few spares on hand for my RipStik wheels).

How I Designed This ===================

Lots of boolean subtraction

I used Cheetah 3D and boolean subtraction to get the supports (rectangular prism with trimmed corners and a hole) just right.
