Description

This is a stitching pony for leatherwork / leathercraft or other stitching activities. It folds into itself for easy storage. It is designed to be a long-lasting item that can withstand some abuse while not breaking the bank and taking up too much space.

Printing Instructions

This is a tool. It's supposed to be an alternative to solid wood stitching ponies. Do yourself the favor and don't cheap out on the infill percentage or material. Take your time, don't rush things, you'll just end up with a lot of waste if you do. Here's my recommendations (they're pre-configured in the .3mf file).

  • Material: PETG (PLA also works)

  • Infill: 50-70 %

  • Infill Type: Gyroid

  • Layer Height 0.2 mm

  • Profile: Structural / Slow

List of Materials

  • 1 Heat Set Insert M5x9.5

  • 4 Heat Set Insert M8x12.7

  • 2 M8x50 Screw (13 mm Sex Head)

  • 1 M8x80 Screw (13 mm Hex Head)

  • 1 M5x45 Screw (Socket Head Cap, M5x40 or M5x50 should also be fine)

  • 4 6x3 mm Round Magnets (optional)

  • 1 9x70 mm Compression Spring (optional, measurements approximate)

Assembly

Insert Heat Set Inserts

Insert the 4 M8x12.7 Heat Set Inserts.

Insert the M5x9.5 Heat Set Insert.

Glue The Screws In Place

Add a drop of glue into the respective holes and secure the screw heads in place.

You'll also want to secure the bottom clamp nut with a drop of glue to the M8x80 screw.

Add the Optional Accessories

Glue the 4 magnets for holding needles or tools in place.

Add the spring.
