This is a modification of dave's excellent DIY collimator but designed with a M48 thread.
I used CNC Kitchen M2.5mm Brass Inserts (https://cnckitchen.store/products/gewindeeinsatz-threaded-insert-m2-5-standard-100-stk-pcs)
There is now a USB type C socket in the cover. I cut the USB cable to the camera and then soldered the 4 wires to the USB socket - See Photo)
I used a higher resolution camera (ELP Ultra HD 3496P USB Camera Module with IMX298 Image Sensor) and resized the reflector ring to suit. The camera used was from Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C1TVB8SM). Note that the holes are a standard spacing and so the original camera or similar should still fit.
Personally I now only use ASA filament but for this application PLA is fine.
Assembly should be straight forward. You might need to screw in and screw out a M48 spacer a few times, if the threads are tight. Make sure that you can screw the m48 spacer all the way in and that it screws in straight
