JST 4P passthrough on Umbilical Grill & Lid
- I use this for my main single tool filament sensor that is ran up through the printer frame.
- I made little PCBs that allow you to solder the connector in so it doesn't pull out and have a place to solder your wires to. I have attached those design files. Let me know if anyone wants to buy the PCBs, as i made extras.
- I use the 2 pin JST XH for my fan connection, since i already have all my LED wires ran though the frame.
- On the Umbilical Lid you can use a PCB like on the grill to do the passthrough or use a female cable extension and pass it through.
- I soldered them in place, I was just really quick to prevent heat build up and plastic melting. The PCB keeps the JST housing in place.
I beefed up some wall thicknesses all around on the Main Housing
I made back mounting holes deeper to take longer m3 heatset inserts & bolts
I added some more holes at the bottom, so you can screw two screws through the acrylic to help hold this instead of taping it.
- I made a jig to help locate and drill out the acrylic panel for these holes
I added a hepa filter to media basket.
- I Made a version where the hepa filter comes out the backside instead and the front. I personally use the backside version
- These are the ones I used - Roomba 62mmx75mmx8mm HEPA filters
I made the filter screen gaps a little smaller to give them more strength
- Yes this will affect airflow slightly, and i haven't done a surface area calculation yet
I Mirrored the Zip Tie Holder to the other side.
I Extended the Fan holding bumps a litte and mirrored the wire cutout.
Changed filter media lid lip tolerance to get better seal.
- I might add a TPU gasket here also
I Changed the Inner grill cable gland thread to allow for M12, M16, MPG7, PG9
I have not made these changes to the tool-changer versions yet as I dont need them right now. I will eventually most likely though.
