Plant Tag with Embedded RFID/NFC Slot

This plant tag is designed with an internal cavity to hold a 25 mm round NTag215 NFC tag (or any other RFID/NFC tag with a 25 mm diameter). It allows you to easily track, log, and identify your plants with just a tap of your phone or reader.

I recommend printing in PETG for durability outdoors, but most standard filaments will work. Avoid using metal-filled, carbon fiber-filled, or other specialty filaments with conductive additives, as these may interfere with RFID performance. Even some white filaments with a high titanium dioxide content can reduce signal strength.

Printing notes:

Add a pause right before the first top layer of the cavity closes, so you can insert the RFID/NFC tag.

Use a filament change if you want to print the RFID icon in a contrasting color.

The model is designed for 0.2mm layer height.

Edit: With the RFID stickers I use, I found that the cavity for the RFID sticker is not necessary on my printer, now I just print with 100% infill, pauses the print mid-print place the sticker and the printer happily just print over the sticker with no problem. But this is dependent on the thickness of the stickers you use, and of course, your printer.
