Inspired by a Danish design, this model has been created from scratch and tested to strike a balance between strength, cost and simplicity.

While you can purchase similar, prefabricated designs at a much higher quality, the intention is to make such a display accessible to more people.

The wall mount affixes to the wall using a single screw (a heavy-duty picture hanging strip may suffice), and the rail is intended to be glued on top of the dowel you're using. The dowel simply slides into the hole on the mount until it is flush with the wall. The rail has wider grooves for bikepacking bag straps, and smaller grooves for thin coat hangers.

You can use whatever length dowel you like, however it makes sense to cut it to size to fit the rail, and obviously past a certain length it would become unstable. The one in the picture is 30cm long.
