My wife and I built our own hanging lamp and were looking for something to cover the slit in the ceiling from the old light. We also wanted to hide the WAGO connectors and the cable remaining. The old holes were exactly 34 cm apart, so I designed a cable box to fit them. As my printer cannot handle such a long object, I divided it into 3 sections, with two identical parts.
Print from PETG and use screws with about 80 mm in length. The box is 55 mm high.
Recommendation: Use matte PETG like Polymaker Polylite (white).
Tips:
- Either tape the parts together on the inside or glue them together to facilitate installation. Tape gives you more flexibility.
- Don't use the highest torque setting of your power tool when screwing the box to the ceiling. Start low and go up.
I'm considering a second version with the edge rounded off. Might upload later. Also: Different lengths.
