This collection of 38mm tube joiners enables you to create elaborate structures and trusses.

Although the collection is extensive, you can generate millions of variations using the included openSCAD program.

You can generate tube joiners for any diameter, any number of bolts and any number of tubes coming together. You can even change the tilt for each tube segment and twist the individual bolts to you can reach them.

This project is perfect if you want to build a geodesic dome. On this site are many calculators that help you to figure out the tube joiner angles and tilts

The Tube joiner program takes 9 parameters:

  • Diameter - Defines the diameter in mm of the tube this part should fit on.
  • Heights - Defines the height for each straight segment in mm. *Looping
  • gap - Defines the gap in mm so that the joiner can clamp around the tube.
  • bolt - Define if you use M5 or M6 bolts.
  • thickness - The wall thickness of the part.
  • bolt_count - Defines how many bolts should be used to clamp a segment to a tube.
  • Angles - Define a angle for each segment that is joined. You can have any number of segments. Each angle must be a unique value.
  • tilts - Define a tilt for each segment. This is important when building geodesic domes. *Looping
  • twists - In order to gain easier access to the bolts you can twist the bolts for each segment. *Looping

*Looping

The number of entries for heights, tilts and twists do not have to match the number of Angles defines. The program will simply loop around when reading tilts or twists when there are not enough tilts or twists defined. For angles duplicate values are ignored. For heights values of 0 or less are ignored.
