Although this was drawn from scratch, those with a bit of boomerang history under their belt will recognize that this is basically a remix of Axel Heckner's Triller. Or maybe it's a Lambda with a really long stub wing.

The wings are not swept forward as drastically, so it is not quite as aggressive. Depending on your tuning (wings bent up or down slightly), you can throw this like a fast catch (wings bent slightly downwards), or just use it for casual throwing (wings neutral or slightly bent upwards).

I've included both a "regular" and a "blunt" version. The blunt one has a more chunky airfoil which might be useful in high winds or if you want to throw really hard. I prefer the regular version for recreational throwing, though.

Here's a video of some throws and catches:

Print Settings

Resolution:

0.2 mm / 0.6 mm nozzle

Infill:

25%

Filament:

3djake PLA Neon Orange

Print with lots of perimeters (I used 5) and top and bottom layers (e.g. 4). I print boomerangs with bigger nozzles in the .6 to 1 mm range; a regular .4 mm nozzle will work just fine, though.

How I Designed This

Made in Onshape. Have a look at the documents for the regular and the blunt versions to learn more.
