This is the model for the MB battery enclosures there will be 2 variants the big (21700) and small (18650).

designed to be used in conjunction with torque bang and or modified rear bang bumper, badger bumpers may work but have not tested them.

the torque variant has been tested with 30s1p and 18s2p so far im pretty confident 19s2p should fit but have not verified myself yet. Small box will fit 20s2p 18650, with a pack frame, I will eventually provide a pack frame file for p30b 20s2p.

Features:

  • dual gland support.

  • 3mm threaded 7075 lid with machined gasket groove.

  • 7075 threaded led protection plate with machined gasket groove.

  • Left and right 7075 thread plates, no more heat set inserts.

  • removable led mounting plate (tape lights or pcb lights)

    • batt box is not H4 compatible currently.

Hardware required

  • X5 m3x30mm button head screws

  • X5 m3x35mm button head screws

  • X5 m3x8mm button head screws

  • X4 m2.5x10mm counter sunk head screws

  • X2 m2.5x8mm counter sunk head screws

  • 20mm gortex vent patch

updates 1/4/26 removed the heat set insert version and replaced with the thread plate version and added the small box, if you want the heat set version for some reason let me know and I’ll add an “obsolete” section or send it you individually. This version has some geometry changes that minimize as much of the bang bumper modification needs as I could. As of now I’ll just leave it at “some bang bumper mods may be needed unfortunately”

update 6/22/26: both stl and step files replaced with the newest versions, no major changes just changed some inside box geometry to maximize space, scaled the gasket a little smaller to fit and print a bit better and completely revamped the m20 nut and plug. The printed nut now fits a m20 gland and the plug fits the metal m20 nut should you want to mix and match.  The whole box now uses all button head screws on the exterior.

Notes:

  • I tried to minimize it but some bang bumper mods may still be needed with both the small and big box and torque and standard bang respectively.

  • complete, cnc only and hardware packs for this enclosure available here:

https://matixbuilt.com/product/mb-xr-battery-enclosure/

  • in the files section I will provide both .step, stl and tech drawings to produce, remix and use all these parts yourself should you choose.

  • should you choose to produce the cnc parts yourself you will need to provide the included tech drawing along side the step file to notate which holes are threaded to what size, services like JLC and pcb way usually have a section to upload these types of files.
