A simple and standard design for a rivet in three parts. I designed the three parts so that they would be printed in orientations that allowed the highest strength in the plane that would have the most physical stress – i.e. the caps flat and the stalk sideways.
This specific model is sized to replace the aluminum rivet used to secure the rudder on a Tucktec foldable kayak. What can I say, I got tired of replacing the aluminum rivets that kept breaking on the kayak and I had to justify the purchase of our [my] 3D printer to my wife ;). “See, dear, it saved us like a dollar.”
My MK4S prints it snugly and perfectly — you will need to press firmly and it makes a tight and stable fit. However, you may need to do a slight size adjustment depending on the tolerances of your printer.
