This is a homemade crude reading device for soviet ID-11 dosimeters.
DO NOT USE FOR ANY ACTUAL DOSIMETRY.
The dosimeter is quite simple, it has a crystal and if the crystal has been exposed to radiation, it will glow under an UV light.
Higher exposure to radiation = brighter glow.
The reading device consists of:
An UV-LED ( Diameter 21mm ).
A filter to block any visible light from the UV-LED ( Diameter 20mm, thickness 2mm).
An LDR to measure the glow.
To assemble the device you will also need:
8 pcs threaded inserts M3 ( Length 5mm, outside diameter 5mm ).
8 pcs M3 screws.
2 cable glands.
Some cable.
If the dosimeter fits too loosely to the reader body, tighten the nut on the end of the dosimeter.
