This is an attempt to add a belt drive similar to what is on an actual bn44e.

  • This is just the changed parts - you'll need to get the remaining parts from
  • Is this tested? - No
  • things not handled:
    • The rotation of the power cable - Ideally you'll need some sort of slip ring for the power cable to deal with it's twisting
    • There is nothing but gravity holding the base onto the Platform (big gear), also no guarantee that the siren will balance on the platform, you may need ballast.
    • I've made no attempt to size the belt
    • There is no Belt guard - I ran out of initiative
    • I'm hoping the flats on the pulley are compatible with the motor's shaft
  • How this goes together
    • There are two pictures showing where the various parts go, with the exception of:
      •  the worm-gear-shim - this goes under the worm-gear
      • I didn't show the bearings - the locations to press them in should be pretty easy to figure out
      • The Cotter Pins -The small holes (3mm) in the shafts are for cotter pins, you could probably use roll pins instead - they don't transfer load they're just keeping things together
    • I left a lot of slop, so you may want to place some washers under the cotter pins to tighten things up
    • you need two pulleys - one goes on the worm shaft and the other one (green)goes on the end of the motor as shown.  the one on the worm shaft is held in place with a cotter pin, whereas the one on the motor shaft is held in place by the nut and setscrew
    • place the 8mm Balls in the groove on top of the Rotator-Platform, then set the whole assembly on top such that the Balls engage the groove in the bn-bn44e-basebn-bn44e-base
