This little window robot has worked flawlessly for years. Suddenly the drive started making ‘clicking’ sound and the robot could not climb, just go down. Traced the fault to the main drive gear entering the planetary gear had worn.
Could not find a replacement gear so designed this. Originally tried printing in Nylon but the small gear kept separating from the large due to shrinkage. PETG worked much better.
Originally I printed the gear flat and the robot worked for a few minutes before the gear sheared at the interface between large and small. So printed the gear at an angle (see picture) with supports and now the gear is far stronger.
Note you will probably have to drill the center hole with a 2mm drill
