Instructions

Place your combs flat on the build plate and slice using the recommended print settings above.

  1. Take the combs off the build plate, gently begin folding the two halves together. Do not unfold and refold the combs more than 5 times, as their hinges will break.

  2. Begin inserting the pin ball heads into their channels, and aligning the needles into the channel. Repeat until all the pins are in the comb.

  3. Begin pressing the two halves together, pushing any pins that move. If your printer's tolerances are slightly different, pliers can assist with mating the parts. This is supposed to be challenging, as it is an transition fit.

That's it you've completed your comb! Repeat until you have enough combs to block your most recent project or swatch!

Troubleshooting

"My pins keep rolling around while I'm mating them!"

  1. Take it slow and compress the two halves as you go.
  2. To make it easier, you can use a toothpick & a tacky adhesive on the ball recess to prevent slipping.

"My comb won't mate together!"

  1. Check that the pins haven't slipped out of their channels.
  2. Reprint the combs and adjust the scale by ~5%.
