Hexagonal elements can be clipped together to form a flexible fabric for decoration, coasters etc. The joints are designed so that they may be printed in place as well as separately and joined after printing. Thus patterns with several colors can be assembled. The fabric can become arbitrarily large. The model can be resized, but below 3mm thickness  print in place will no longer work. The inner part can be replaced with any design you like.

The joints consist of spheres linked to the hexagon by a cylinder, cut out and enlarged for the corresponding holes. Depending on the distance between the hexagons the fabric becomes more or less flexible. The joints can be modified to be non-clippable, when the opening for the cylinder is reduced, but then you can have only one color or you need a multi-color printer.

Note: I experienced that the quality of print-in-place depended on the filament - the precision wasn't always the same.
