I received a DeWalt XR Flexvolt battery from a client to repair its casing. The problem was that there wasn’t much left of it — the housing was in pieces and many components were missing. Because of that, I had to redesign most of it from scratch in my own way.

Most parts from my version may not be compatible with the original construction.

The project includes:

  • a top battery cover with a mounting interface for DeWalt tools
  • two side covers that hide the cell contacts and other unsightly areas
  • a button that allows the battery to lock into the tool

The entire assembly is designed to be fastened with M3 screws or bolts. Printing all the parts will use at least 160g of filament and take several hours.
