Some of the players in my Daggerheart game wanted to use card stands for their active cards. Most of the available card stands aren't ideal for Daggerheart, since you typically need to see just the lower half of the card.
Some players wanted maximum efficiency, showing just the lower half of cards to minimize the rack's table presence.
Others wanted to see two rows of full cards, showcasing the game's great artwork.
I wanted to support both approaches with a single stand, and for everything to pack flat for transport.
Features:
Support legs and the upper row holder detach for flat transport.
Upper row has two available positions; either showing full cards or half cards in the lower row.
Also works with the matching flat card tray (included) if you want a 3rd row. The tray supports multiple positions depending on whether you want to reveal whole or partial cards here as well.
Printing Notes:
I used variable layer heights with a default of 0.2 mm.
The main and upper row holders consist of 2 parts each – frame and back – that snap together. This approach allows the main surfaces of both the frame and panel to sit against against the bed while printing, eliminating the need for supports within the card channel.
My slicer auto-generated a few tiny external supports for the areas where the upper row holder grips the main frame. I do think these are helpful to ensure the grip area is accurate.
