I really like the original end caps. They make the ends of my 2040 look a lot better. However, I did have to force some things in because of the flat and square starting point. I added a 60 degree chamfer to make inserting them easier. Still holds just fine.
It's hard to see the chamfer in the picture. The part still needed a nudge to seat fully but started much easier.
