This is my first make and was more about learning 3D modeling than any sort of distance/speed or other metric for the car, so please don't be to hard on me if there is slop etc in the model. All of the internals are still the same, I just made a new frame for the model.

There were some comments on the original requesting instructions. There is an STL named “Spring Car Carriage Assembled” that has all the components fit together which you can view in blender to see how it goes together. It's pretty easy to assemble though, since most of the gears have a unique inner diameter.

I changed the frame to a hex pipe design to give it a little more rigidity. The overhang of the hexagon doesn't seem to have any problems printing without support or a brim at this size. The wheel spokes are probably a little too thin at the base plate, and I've been using a raft to print those.

For material, I usually use PETG for springs. I tried to print a frame out of a wood PLA, but that seemed to have too much friction for the spring to overcome, so it might be best to avoid those kinds of materials for this build.

Be sure to add an extra instance of the wheel shaft and 3 of the wagon wheel and outer wheel hub
