More coming soon
I have other components that will be added, soon :tm:
Player Component Boxes
Each item (Lid, Body, etc) should be a single assembly. Everything has a “LayerN” value. This is the order in which the items need to be put in within the assembly. Body-Modifier1-SparseInfll, if you want to use it, should be set as a modifier to reduce the infill density where it's not needed, just to save filament.
Important
The “Dividers” are not intended to be printed separately - they should be in the same assembly as the base.
Because I know I'll get asked: the alien text is gibberish.
For my own prints, as pictured, these are the filaments I used. The lids did require me to use 2 AMSs, but I believe there's a way to do this without needing 2. I have also found it best to use a combination of Concentric and Hilbert Curve on the bottom layer for all the decorative elements as it's more visually appealing. Experimentation is good.
- Layer1: Bambu Labs Matte Black
- Layer2: Bambu Labs Matte Black
- Layer3: PlayerColor-Standard (see below)
- Layer4: Bambu Labs Iron Gray Metallic
- Layer5; Bambu Labs Silk Titan Gray
- Layer6: Bambu Labs Matte Black (this to clear negative space within Layer4 and to have a different bottom layer pattern)
- Layer7: Bambu Labs Iridium Gold
- Layer8: PlayerColor-Silk (see below)
- Layer9: PlayerColor-Dark (see below)
- Layer10: Bambu Labs White Silk
- Layer11: Bambu Labs White Silk
I've been considering an alternative color arrangement that forgoes the silk and dark colors and instead uses black for logo shading. This still requires 2 AMSs.
- Layer1: Bambu Labs Matte Black
- Layer2: Bambu Labs Matte Black
- Layer3: PlayerColor-Standard (see below)
- Layer4: Bambu Labs Iron Gray Metallic
- Layer5; Bambu Labs Silk Titan Gray
- Layer6: Bambu Labs Matte Black (this to clear negative space within Layer4 and to have a different bottom layer pattern)
- Layer7: Bambu Labs Iridium Gold
- Layer8: PlayerColor-Standard (see below)
- Layer9: Bambu Labs Matte Black
- Layer10: Bambu Labs White Silk
- Layer11: Bambu Labs White Silk
If I had to do this with one AMS, I would do it this way
- Layer1: Bambu Labs Matte Black
- Layer2: Bambu Labs Matte Black
- Layer3: PlayerColor-Standard (see below)
- Layer4: Bambu Labs Matte Black (can be skipped ,but I'd still use it to change the bottom layer pattern)
- Layer5: Bambu Labs Silk Titan Gray
- Layer6: Bambu Labs Matte Black (as per layer 3)
- Layer7: Bambu Labs Iridium Gold
- Layer8: PlayerColor-Standard (see below)
- Layer9: Bambu Labs Matte Black
- Layer10: Bambu Labs Iridium Gold
- Layer11: Bambu Labs Iridium Gold
Hardware
for each box, you'll need 4 M3x40 screws. Either buttonhead or caphead will work (countersink won't).
also, I've made it so that you can remove the lid, flip it over, and clasp it to the underside of the box so that it stays out of the way during play.
Faction Boxes
There's not much to these, and should be fairly intuitive. There are three variations of decorative elements for some visual variety.
I opted to use the symbols on the labels to indicate what expansion they are from. Others have suggested using them as difficulty ratings (or coloring the names based on difficulty). I tried printing these with a 0.2mm nozzle, but couldn't get it to work (User error, I'm sure - not a problem with the files) as such, I can say with certainty that using a 0.4mm nozzle (which I could get to work) is perfectly legible.
There is a modifier mesh for the inner surface of the bottom. Use this, if you wish, to alter the upper surface pattern of the inside.
Important
The “Inserts” are not intended to be printed separately - they should be in the same assembly as the bottom.
There are 4 versions of the insert. Most factions will use the 1-Tile version (which holds one standard tile for the home system). Use the 2-tile version for Muaat. For Keleres, you can use either the 0-tile (since they use other faction's home system) or the 3-tile version (if you've picked up Sigma's Keleres pack like I have).
Player Colors
(everything is PLA). Most of the time you'll want to use the “Standard” color, but for some prints, if you want to be extra fancy, there are times you'll want to use Silk and/or Dark as accent colors.
- Red
- Standard: Bambu Labs Basic Red
- Silk: Bambu Labs Silk Red
- Dark: Ereyone Matte Ruby Red
- Yellow
- Standard: Bambu Labs Basic Sunflower Yellow
- Silk: Bambu Labs Silk Gold
- Dark: Kexcelled Matte Mustard Yellow (this is the color I'm least happy with. If anyone has any suggestions for a ***Dark*** yellow that is of similar hue and saturation, ie: isn't too orange-y, red-ish, or tan-ish, I'd love to know about it)
- Orange
- Standard: Bambu Labs Basic Pumpkin Orange
- Silk: Amolen Silk Orange
- Dark: Bambu Labs Basic Brown
- Green
- Standard: Bambu Labs Basic Mistletoe Green
- Silk: Bambu Labs Silk Candy Green
- Dark: Ereyone Matte Black Forest Green
- Blue
- Standard: Bambu Labs Matte Marine Blue (the Basic Blue could also work, but I found it to be a touch too pruple; I'm open to suggestions)
- Silk: Bambu Labs Silk Blue
- Dark: Bambu Labs Matte Dark Navy
- Purple
- Standard: Bambu Labs Basic Purple
- Silk: Bambu Labs Silk Purple
- Dark: Bambu Labs Basic Indigo Purple
- Magenta
- Standard: Bambu Labs Basic Magenta
- Silk: Polymaker Silk Magenta
- Dark: Bambu Labs Matte Plum
- Black (white because contrast)
- Standard: Bambu Labs Matte White
- Silk: Bambu Labs Silk White
- Dark: Bambu Labs Matte Ash Gray
- Black (black for accuracy - I haven't tried these, so grain of salt)
- Standard: Bambu Labs Basic Dark Gray
- Silk: Polymaaker Silk Gunmetal
- Dark: Bambu Labs Basic Black (unless someone has something halfway between BL Dark Gray and black)
- Grey (neutral)
- Standard: Bambu Labs Ash Grey
- Silk: Bambu Labs Silk Silver
- Dark: Bambu Labs Basic Dark Gray
