I thought it would be nice to rekindle the fun of getting music on some form of medium, like a CD or vinyl record. SD cards are very common and still widely used. I also like scale models, and got the idea of a jewel case for a music SD. CDs were between 650MB and 700MB in capacity, so even old 1GB SD cards can hold a full CD of uncompressed music.
Both parts are printed in clear PLA with a manual colour change on the base to make the black edge. The cover is thin so that only a single layer of clear is laid down, helping it to be semi-transparent.
The album artwork should be 38mm x 38mm to fit into the cover. The SD label is 24mm high x 20mm wide. I used packing tape to give the printed artwork a glossy appearance.
Oops - almost forgot! The two parts are connected by a piece of filament which forms the hinge.
I think this would turn out wonderfully on a resin printer, so hoping to see some makes!
