Why?
“Blocking” is the process of wetting a knit garment and holding it in form while it dries. Its an essential step in making a garment. Blocking combs make this process possible for a wide range of garments, socks, sweaters, scarves etc.
What you need:
- High Quality T-pins (I used Prym Dritz #32 steel t-pins)
- Slicer knowledge 💪 (add pause at layer)
- Fusion 360 (optional for modifying the parameters of the model)
This project requires sewing t-pins, which are widely available both in store and online. I highly recommend a high quality t-pin such as ones made by Prym Dritz. I have found that inexpensive t-pins are made with a high variation in straightness, head size, and steel thickness. I learned this lesson the hard way! Check out the example pictures to see how cheap t-pins are not worth your time x_x
Changing Parameters:
Though the provided model is optimized for the Prym Dritz #32 steel t-pins, this model is designed to be parametric. All that you need is a free fusion 360 hobbyist account and the .f3d file included in the print files! After loading the model into your fusion design workspace, select “modify” drop-down menu, near the bottom select “change parameters”.
