I designed this because I got tired of opening the Disney+ or LG Channels app every time I didn't carefully set my TV remote down face up on the coffee table. It should snap snugly into place.

If you make this, please share! It will make my entire week to see my work being used by someone else.

To install:

  1. Pry open the magic remote with something like a butterknife. I had success starting in the area where the pick is pointing. The plastic scratches really easily so be careful. The clips that hold it together are oriented differently towards the bottom of the remote (marked in yellow). Picks are really useful to hold it open, and if you have them, they'll need to be oriented like this.

  2. Remove the rubber button panel and trim away the chunk at the bottom.
  3. Insert the new part from the inside of the top panel. It should be a fairly tight fit.
  4. Snap everything back together, and tape the discarded buttons to the back of your TV, in the unlikely case that you need them again.
