I lost about 16 millimeters of a finger. The bandage caused a lot of pain and re-opening of the wound. Well when you have a hammer everything looks like a nail. So I made a splint and designed it in such a way to have a large protective ball around the wound so it could air out and be untouched allowing it to heal without the bandage ripping off the scab.
I hope this can help someone else. It helped me.
Print with supports. Print a few of them and be sure to clean with IPA and/or dispose of them regularly and change them out to avoid infection. They use very little plastic. It's made thin to be supporting but light and thin. Wrap with gauze and prewrap and wound dressing.
