This is my fourth model of F's lightsaber from Star Wars: Visions, now updated to match the new short “The Lost Ones”. Its earlier appearance was in “The Village Bride”.

It has a collapsing blade.

The hilt can hold a small flashlight. It can fit flashlights that are 12mm-21mm in diameter and less than 70mm in length.

The emitter can open and close. The blade cannot extend while the emitter is closed.

The inner emitter can use transparent yellow or transparent colorless filament.

Blade

The blade is printed in vase mode. You should use transparent yellow filament.

While printing, the parts will start to wobble as they get taller, reducing the print quality. This can be partially counteracted with good bed adhesion, using a brim and reducing print speed. There will still be some wobble, so you might have to print some parts twice to get a better quality.

You can either use a long blade (6 segments) or short blade (5 segments).

Everything was printed in vase mode, with 0.2mm layer height, 0 bottom layers and 8mm brim.

The print speed was gradually reduced during the print. (I did this manually because I was unable to do this in the slicer.)

Curved Blade

The "default" blade for this model is straight. If you want a curved blade instead:

  • Do not print the blade from this model.

  • Instead print the blade from the previous iteration (link).

  • Do not print the following parts:

    • upper emitter, inner emitter, upper hilt, middle hilt

  • Instead print the "curved"-variants listed in the folder "Curved" (same colors and settings as the "default" variants listed in the table above)

    • lightsaber-f5 curved upper emitter

    • lightsaber-f5 curved inner emitter

    • lightsaber-f5 curved upper hilt

    • lightsaber-f5 curved middle hilt

If you want to use the pre-sliced files:

  • Instead of the files in the folder "Blade", print the blade from the previous iteration (link).

  • Instead of "lightsaber-f5 silver[...].gcode", print "lightsaber-f5 curved silver[...].gcode"

  • Instead of "lightsaber-f5 black[...].gcode", print "lightsaber-f5 curved black[...].gcode"

  • Instead of "lightsaber-f5 transparent[...].gcode", print "lightsaber-f5 curved transparent[...].gcode"

Assembly

The following render shows how all pieces fit together. A purple arrow means that the pieces are supposed to be glued together. Where there is a green arrow, no glue should be used.

The upper switches are glued only to the lower emitter. They are not glued to the upper hilt.

UPDATE [2026-03-23] Re-added the curved blade
