I found almost immediately that 1mm was too coarse for an object I was modelling so made another with 1.5, 2.5, etc. to go with my prior gauge (https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/148347).
Print at 0.2mm layer height.
Depending on the filament used, you may need to reduce non-external perimeter width to 0.4 (under Print Settings --> Advanced) to get the numbers to show well.
