BOM listed at the end with links. 25 pound house cat added for scale.
I bought a new PRUSA XL printer and needed a good table or workbench to put it on. I saw that a lot of people used the Lagkapten table top with a set of Alex drawer units. I wanted more storage and easier to use storage so I opted for a Kallax 4x2 shelf unit laid on its side.
I wanted the table top set off center toward the wall behind it so I used two Olov adjustable legs to stabilize the back side of the bench.
I made a drill guide to help me get the holes perfect I needed to drill through the Kallax to attach it to the table top. In the pictures you can see how I used it. Knowing the Kallax wall I was drilling and attaching the top on was honeycomb core with just cardboard inside of it I made 4 2x1 spacers to give my hardware something to clamp on and spread the pressure out. I used standard Ikea 8mm Kallax bolts that I got from Amazon. I used a new, sharp #7 drill bit, it is under size for the bolts just a little. I used 3 of my spacers stacked up under the drill guide when I drilled the front holes to help keep the guide level with the board I was drilling through. I made and included a file for a 36mm tall spacer to that job after I put everything together. I didn't need to use a spacer for the wall side holes, if you need the guide spacer depend on which holes you will be using to mount the table top.
The table leg spacers are a remix of @struthers Ikea Table Leg Spacer. I printed them 8.25mm tall, made a cut out for a 100x50mm L bracket, added a 10mm hole at the 6 o'clock position to allow for a mounting screw for the L bracket and increased the 12 o'clock screw hole to 10mm. The L bracket is there to allow me to bolt the bench to studs in the wall to keep everything stable and to keep me from moving the table if I bump into it.
I printed everything out of Overture White PETG. The 2x1 spacers and table leg spacers were printed with 20% infill using the 3D honeycomb pattern.
STEP files included for remixing.
