There's an inner lip to ensure the mic can't slide in or out.
This holds the mic a bit back from the drumhead. Keeps it out of the way(w/ the snare mount) and allows you the clearance to point directly at the drum head, if you want.
Inspired by some of the other mic holders on here, but original design based on my own measurements and needs.
