Description

This model is designed to fit over Christmas light bulbs or any light source that uses wires. The idea is to use your existing lights and turn them into a more comforting sight to enhance the holiday spirit. The lid is only used for the top of the model, and there are two variants: one with a tight fit and another slightly looser. Try both to see which fits your base best.

P.S. The STL files are quite large because of the significant amount of geometry used in the lithophane generation process. The files were actually larger originally, but I simplified some geometry to decrease the size a little.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Pull the wires through the lid gap (the light bulb or LED must remain under the lid).

  2. Clip one side of the lid to the base, then close the lid.

  3. Secure the wires from sliding using the pin (optional).

Printing Parameters

  • Layer Height: 0.2 mm is good enough (You can use a lower height for potentially better results, but print time will increase).

  • Perimeters: 4 for the litho_xmas_base_* files, and 2 for the lid and pin files.

  • Infill: 15% (used only for the lid part).

  • Filament: PLA (preferably white or light gray).

  • Brim: Recommended for litho_christmas_lights_pin_v02 file.
