Game Rules: Dice Sequences (1 to 12)

Materials Needed

  • Six six-sided dice.

  • A score sheet per player with a table of 12 rows (sequences 1 to 12) and 12 columns.

Goal of the Game

Be the first player to completely fill their table—that is, to have checked off all 12 boxes for each number from 1 to 12.

Gameplay

Each player takes turns. A player's turn consists of a series of consecutive rolls.

1. Start of the Turn and Choice of Target Sequence

The player rolls all six dice for their first throw.

After this first roll, the player chooses which sequence they want to try to validate during this turn (from 1 to 12). The player can choose any sequence not yet fully completed on their table.

2. "Push Your Luck" Mechanism and Scoring

The player sets aside the dice that match their chosen target.

Targets 1 to 6

Targets 7 to 12

Rule: Use only the face value of a single die (e.g., for 4, each die showing a '4' counts as 1 validation point). Adding dice together is not allowed (e.g., 2+2 does not make 4).

Rule: Use two dice whose sum equals the exact total (e.g., for 8, a pair of 5+3 or 4+4 counts as 1 validation point).

The player has a choice:

  • "Stop": They stop playing for this turn and mark the number of validations (points) obtained for that sequence on their table.

  • "Go On" (Re-roll): They re-roll the remaining dice to try to get more validations (points) for the same target.

3. Special Re-roll and "Bust" Rules

  • "Bust" (Overshoot or Fail): If the dice set aside exceed the number of remaining boxes needed to finish the sequence, OR if the player makes a re-roll where no dice match the target sequence, the player loses their turn. They score zero points accumulated during that turn, and it is the next player's turn.

  • Full Board Re-roll: If all dice are used for the sequence, the player may re-roll all six dice to continue on the same sequence.

  • Free Turn (Sequence Completed): If the player exactly completes the 12th box of a sequence, they mark the points and immediately continue with a new free turn to attempt a different sequence, without passing play to the next player.

4. End of the Turn

The player's turn ends in the following cases:

  • The player decides to "Stop" and marks their validations.

  • The player "Busts" (overshoot or failed re-roll).

End of the Game

The first player to have filled all 12 boxes for each of the 12 sequences is declared the winner.
